Jennifer Wallace has been working with teenagers, young adults, adults and
families for 15 years in many different capacities. Her passion is helping others
grow and to empower them to help themselves and be themselves, as her own
life has been dedicated to growth: letting go of patterns that have not served
her and inviting more peace and joy into her life and ultimately those around
her.
Jen has learned and practiced many different modatlies over the years, both
with herself and with her clients, finding that everyone is unique in what best
helps them at any given period in their lives. She will introduce a variety of
techniques and psycho-education in order to help the individual, family, or group
to help themselves, reflecting the collaborative nature of sessions.
Jen grew up in Chicago and has lived in various places: Minnesota, New Jersey, upstate NY, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, she recieved her BA in Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her MA at Naropa University. During her internship, she decided to become a bilingual therapist due to the high necessity, and went to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years on the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Outside of her studying abroad experience in Spain during college, this significantly furthered her understanding of cultural beliefs and norms and the impacts they can have on individuals, families and societies as a whole.
Her hobbies include music (the forever quest of the best mixed CD or in the past, tape), artistic expression (sharpies, collaging images of inspiration, painting, sewing), nature (hiking, snowshoeing, camping, trail running), snowboarding, ultimate frisbee, writing, dancing, connecting with others and just having a good time with one another.
